Fiestas and the town calendar
Bernalillo keeps a calendar older than the state, and the August fiestas bring the whole town and half the county into the streets. A Bernalillo fiesta booking takes rows on pavement along the procession route, an ADA accessible unit at each cluster and handwashing stations where the food booths run.
Because the Bernalillo streets close for those days, delivery has to land before the barricades go up. We set a Bernalillo event row early and schedule collection for after the closure lifts rather than fighting through it.
River bottom, acequias and irrigated land
Down off the highway, Bernalillo is river bottom with acequias running through it and cottonwoods along the ditch banks. A Bernalillo job near an acequia keeps its unit up on the road or a gravel pad, since ditch banks are soft and the ditch rider needs the access clear.
Irrigated Bernalillo ground holds water in a way the mesa never does, and a wet pasture will not carry a service truck. We place a Bernalillo unit where the firm ground ends and let the crew walk the last stretch.
The highway junction and what moves through it
Everything headed for the Four Corners leaves the interstate at Bernalillo, so the highway corridor here is under constant repair and widening. A Bernalillo roadwork unit sits inside the coned zone and moves with the closure as it walks along the corridor.
Truck stops, yards and hotels along the Bernalillo junction generate their own steady work. Those Bernalillo rentals sit behind the building on gravel and hold a standing weekly service visit. Traffic through the Bernalillo junction is heaviest in the middle of the day, so deliveries land early rather than at lunch.
